In Korimi most of our processes are made by women who thrive with love and passion each of our products. Margarita Lopez is one of the women who has captivated us so much for her knowledge in textiles and her big heart.
Traveling to Chiapas has been without a doubt one of the best experiences in my life, it is a place with spectacular scenery and especially with very hospitable people who make anyone feel at home. In this journey to start Korimi we have been fortunate to find people who inspire us and one of them is certainly Margarita; her parents were members of the Zapatista movement which gave her a sense from an early age of the importance of fighting for their beliefs. Her knowledge of textiles and techniques have led her to give workshops in Europe, USA and collaborate with prestigious Mexican designers.
To See how Margarita Works with craftswomen is witnessing an act of brotherhood and solidarity. They are fighting for their families and to keep alive the craft heritage of his lineage . Fills my spirit every time I go to Chiapas and see this group of women who are working for their community and motivates me to do the same in my environment, women are so powerful that together we will change this country.
