TAXCO JACKET

$570.00
This denim jacket honors La Bella Taxco, a small mining town deep in the mountains of Guerrero. This landscape of Tierra Caliente was the inspiration for the artist and architect William Spratling, to establish his silverware workshop that initiated the splendor of Mexican silver and brought characters such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Tina Modotti, among others, to visit this attractive place.
These pieces were naturally hand-dyed at the La Sublime Workshop in Mexico City. The blue garments were dyed with indigo and the pink garments with cochineal. Blue and pink are said to have been Spratling's favorites, blue as the door frames and pink as the bougainvillea.
The jacket is hand-embroidered that invokes the typography and ornaments of the region.
Each piece is unique and unrepeatable.

This item is naturally dyed in Mexico through a totally organic process. Colour variations are a result of the dyeing process and are a part of this garment´s individual beauty. The garment may fade a little when washed, its is part of its nature.
